“Your Mental Illness, PU**Y”: Jose Benavidez Takes a Dig at Jermall Charlo’s Mental Health Struggle Ahead of Their Upcoming Fight

On the 25th of November, Jose Benavidez Jr. will square off against Jermall Charlo at 163 lbs on the undercard of David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade. Undoubtedly, boxing fans are extremely hyped about the event and they just can’t wait for the fights to start. In this connection, ahead of the event, Brian Custer recently sat down with Jose Benavidez and Jermall Charlo.
In talking course, as Charlo claimed he was capable of defeating both Jose and David Benavidez, ‘El Phoenix’ touched upon Jermall’s mental health issues. However, Charlo fired back. Consequently, the duo went at it, pretty much disregarding the presence of Custer. Well, here is what happened.

And as ‘Hit Man’ later expressed, it was due to mental health issues he faced that he remained inactive. However, Charlo is back and ready to face Jose Benavidez on the undercard of Demetrius vs. David. In this context, on being asked who he thought would win between Benavidez and Andrade, Charlo boldly stated, “I’mma beat both of their a**. I’mma beat both him [Jose Benavidez] and his brother’s [David Benavidez’s] a**.”

On the other hand, replying to Charlo, Jose said, “Your mental illness, p***y.” At this, as Charlo advised Jose to not bother about his mental health, the latter added, “Then, don’t bring that bulls**t up. Don’t bring those f***ing excuses.” But, in his reply, Charlo proudly claimed that he’d learnt how to deal with mental health issues. However, just as Charlo mentioned that Benavidez Jr. could “walk that same block no more,” the latter said, “I’m still fighting. I’m not making excuses over there crying.”

As per Jose Benavidez’s statements, the hard times that Charlo went through have now formed an excuse that leads the duo to fight at 163 lbs.

Jose chastises Charlo for not coming down to 160 lbs
While Benavidez acknowledged that Charlo went through hard times, he feels the latter is using the same as an excuse to fight at 163 lbs. Likewise, Jose who starred in Creed III, accused Charlo of being unprofessional with the weight. “It’s at 163 because this guy had to make up excuses that he couldn’t make the weight,” Benavidez said. “, “He was going through some hard times, I guess, so he can’t make the weight. So, we have to go at ’63,” he added.
