In terms of performances, Grammy Award winner Reba McEntire had the honor of singing the ‘Star-Sprangled Banner’. However, the half-time show was headlined by none other than Usher. He came up with a few of his chart-topping hits. A bevy of artists, such as singers Alicia Keys and H.E.R., rappers Lil Jon, and Ludacris, performed alongside the R&B singer and dancer. But it seems not all were satisfied with the Texas-born musician and the rest of the team’s extravaganza.

Oscar De La Hoya is a man of moments. His Instagram story showcased him enjoying the Super Bowl. Taking the followers through a lavish spread prepared by his partner, he crooned, “Look at what my baby has made. Whoo!” But it was a post from him on X/Twitter that grabbed the attention of quite a few followers. Teasing at Teofimo Lopez’s recent walk-in during the fight with Jamaine Ortiz, ‘The Golden Boy’ said, “@TeofimoLopez entrance was better than halftime.“

As usual, some of the users agreed with him. Take, for instance, this comment: “You got it right, Oscar!” But then many disagreed as well. “NEVER!!!!!! Teo entrance was weak. The circus is the best he could come up with. Nahh,” said one of the followers.

It was undoubtedly ‘The Takeover’ show last Thursday. The title fight, billed ‘The Showman Returns’, was first marked by his arrival in Marvel Comics’ ‘Deadpool’ suit. But the best was reserved for the walk-ins. The viewers literally saw a circus with a stream of performers coming up with their acts. Then, from behind a red curtain, came in a black hat and red tailcoat, ‘The Takeover’. He danced all the way up to the ring.

But only if the actual fight had been equally dazzling. It would have been a performance worth remembering for years. However, in what has been termed a lackluster performance, neither Lopez nor Ortiz could meet the expectations of the fans.
