Former Boxing World Champion Brands Novak Djokovic ‘Legend of Tennis’ After Stefanos Tsitsipas Record-Equaling 22nd Grand Slam Victory at 10th Australian Open

ATP legend Novak Djokovic has scored a victory over the Greek player, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and became the World No. 1 player in the men’s ranking. Following that match, boxing legend, George Kambosos Jr, made a tweet where he praised the Serbinator, Djokovic calling him the ‘absolute legend of tennis’. This match took place in the Rod Laver Arena, on Sunday. Djokovic was also able to retain his 10-time winning streak for the Australian Open title.

George ‘Ferocious’ Kambosos Jr. wrote in his tweet, “The Joker too good, absolute legend of tennis.” The performance of Djokovic in the finals of the Australian Open 2023 has impressed a lot of people around the world. 

One of them is the boxing legend, ‘Ferocious’ who is a professional boxer from Australia. He is considered a top contender in the lightweight division and is known for his quick footwork, heavy punches, and pressure fighting style.

Iconic warfare between Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas

Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas are professional tennis players. Djokovic is a Serbian tennis player who is currently ranked World No. 1 in men’s singles tennis by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). He has won 22 Grand Slam singles titles, the most among male players in the Open Era.

On the other hand, Tsitsipas is a Greek tennis player who is currently World No. 4 by the ATP. He has won 9 ATP Tour titles and has also 1played in the finals of two major tournaments, the French Open 2021, and the recent Australian Open 2023.

Right from the opening set, Djokovic had a lead over Tsitsipas of 3-1. The first set was finished with a win by Djokovic, with the number 6-3 on the scoreboard. But the second set was not that easy for the Joker as Tsitsipaswas also getting close to winning. Despite everything, Djokovic still managed to steal a win in a total of 70 minutes. And in the end, Novak Djokovic was, without any doubt, the winner as he finished the set with a score of 7-6.

Djokovic was a monster throughout the match. In his defense, Djokovic did warn his opponents about his aim for invincible glory at the 2023 Australian Open.

Kambosos Jr. further in his tweet stated that “Rod Laver was electric; not as electric though as when me and Dev went tough to tough a couple months ago,” where he is remarking that the environment in the Rod Laver arena was electric. But then he also adds on and claims that his fight against Devin Haney was more of an electric event than that.
