Five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams recently shared how her mother’s and sister Serena Williams‘ guidance helped her through the years. She was answering a couple of questions from fans on the Instagram account of her clothing brand, @elevenbyvenus. One of the fans asked about the wisest counsel she had received. The former world number one shared Serena Williams’s advice: “You have to show up, so why not compete?” A recent guest on Hotboxin‘ who was present with the sisters at a party some time ago shared a similar story involving Mike Tyson.

Rapper Tony Yayo joined Tyson and DJ Whoo Kid in their studio as a guest. The forty-five-year-old musician gained fame as a member of the G-Unit. Besides him, 50 Cent, and Lloyd Banks, his childhood friends, were its members. The show started with the trio discussing the boxing game, Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out. The former champion revealed that he had never played the game.

Agreeing, Tony Yayo explained playfully that getting late was something one could barely afford to do at Mike Tyson’s show. ‘Iron’ Mike added that all those days of knocking down people were long over. Yayo then shared how Tyson changed his life many moons ago.

He said, “I told you, don’t even remember you changed my life. Like, it was a party. It was me, 50, Serena, Venus. You [were] there, Pretty Shy was there, and Mike….. and I never forgot that night and [and] you told me, and they had caviar coming around. And I was like, what is that? I never left the hood I was in South Side Jamaica, and you [were] like expand your horizons Yayo. Expand your horizons.
