It read, “I’m glad we are in different weight classes!” Walsh had the card propped over his WBC title belt, which he defended in his last fight.

However, before the fight in MMA Fighting’s Trocação Franca podcast, Ricci revealed Walsh’s true intentions. According to Ricci, Walsh doesn’t like boxing.

“He doesn’t like boxing. He only does it because he’s good,” said Ricci. She went on to reveal that Walsh’s real goal is to fight in the MMA. Ricci also added that Walsh doesn’t follow the sport of boxing, suggesting he competes in boxing because he is good at it. “He doesn’t even follow boxing that much. He does it because he’s really good at it,” said Ricci. 

After winning his ninth boxing match, Walsh received a gift from UFC legend alongside the message.
