‘Both Those Guys Beat Mike Tyson’: Jorge Masvidal Shares ‘Greatest Heavyweight Boxing Match’ Drawing Intense Fan Reactions

Jorge Masvidal continues his run on FB. Despite his career in MMA, he has a great interest in boxing. Quite frequently, ‘Gamebred’ takes to Facebook and shares videos and articles related to boxing. In one of his recent posts, Masvidal shared Lennox Lewis vs. Evander Holyfield bout. In the year 1999, Lewis and Holyfield met twice. The first fight was in MSG, and the second was at Thomas & Mack Center.

While the first fight was a draw, Lewis won the second fight via decision. Apart from the two distinct boxers involved, what added excitement was the fact that the first fight included three titles, and the second included four world heavyweight titles on the line.

Jorge Masvidal captioned the post, “People call this the greatest match of all times at heavyweight (surprised emoji).” What was really interesting about the two events was that both the fighters with respect to time, took a piece of ‘Iron‘ Mike.

After Masvidal shared the post, several fans reacted to it. Fans discussed whether Holyfield vs. Lewis bout, deserved to be called the greatest heavyweight boxing match of all time.

A user disagreed. They said, “David Tua vs. Ike Ibeabuchi is still the greatest heavyweight boxing I’ve ever seen.” The Ibeabuchi vs. Tua fight took place in 1997. Ibeabuchi beat Tua via decision.

Similarly, another reacted by saying, “Holyfield was an amazing natural Cruiserweight, a bit small for the heavyweights, still an amazing talent and heart. But I would not classify this as the best fight ever.”

Likewise, another fan said, “Brilliant fight. Holyfield with his style made Lewis look exciting. But not one of the greatest.”

Meanwhile, one fan said, “Both those guys beat Mike Tyson.”
