It has been some time since Jake Paul expressed his willingness to square off with former UFC two-weight category champion Conor McGregor in a crossover fight. However, now that Jake Paul is all set to headline a fight on August 6th on Showtime, fans are already contemplating what would be next for The Problem Child. Lately, Paul appeared on MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani and reiterated his desire to fight McGregor. Although Jake Paul felt the match would get a good profit in terms of business, McGregor somewhat loathed the whole idea.

“Yeah, no, I mean, Conor is going to do everything to discredit me, but it’s clear he wants attention. If I’m nobody, then why are you tweeting at me? The 10 minutes after the interview comes out, it’s like he had my notification on.”

McGregor’s words are straightforward. His response, which includes Paul’s pay-per-view buys and the number of fights he’s had, only hints at the fact that Paul lacks the resume or status he needs to fight the elite, McGregor.

However, when Paul talked about fighting a few more fighters before facing McGregor, did he not already hint at attaining that resume McGregor was shedding light on later?

Anyway, McGregor has not entirely rejected the idea of fighting Jake. Although he, being the elite fighter he is, has shown despise, having clearly not stated his refusal to fight Jake Paul, ‘The Notorious’ has somewhere kept the prospect for a future fight alive and breathing.
