WBC Interim champion Dillian Whyte has been calling out former world champion Deontay Wilder for years, with a mutual hatred on the display from both ends. The heavyweight knockout artists hold a storied history off-canvas, and fight fans have often contrasted them under several parameters.

While both Whyte and Wilder appear to be the rightful mandataries to the WBC belt, an in-ring collision between them clearly makes sense at this point. However, the Brit heavyweight has accused Deontay Wilder of ducking him several times.

Whyte apparently still wants the fight, but states that it is Wilder’s call to make. Speaking with Talk Sport, ‘The Body Snatcher’ opened up on his current mindset and claimed that Wilder snubbed him to fight Luis Ortiz back in 2019.

“The fight is there. I’ve been calling for it, Wilder hasn’t said anything. His team haven’t shown any interest so I can only do what I can do, I’ve been calling for the fight for about three years now. Not once has he shown any interest. Obviously, I keep calling him out and keep doing my bit,” said Dillian Whyte.

He added, “We offered £8million when he got £1million to fight Luis Ortiz, and he took that fight! He said I need to beat this fighter and another, whatever…These guys just talk c*** man, all I can do is the best I can do.”

Dillian Whyte has expanded his fighting radar, and with a sensational KO over Alexander Povetkin, he is not restricted to a Deontay Wilder bout. Whyte, the former kickboxer, has expressed his desire in moving to the MMA world and we can see him arrive at Dana White’s UFC for a match.

Dillian Whyte wants the UFC gold

The boxing world title contender has teased a move to the UFC to grab the heavyweight championship, which is currently held by ‘The Predator’ Francis Ngannou. It would allure the entire fight community to see Whyte and Ngannou collide, and the former is absolutely open to the challenge.

‘The Body Snatcher’ said, “Imagine me going and winning the UFC heavyweight championship. I’d be the first boxer to ever do that and, with the stage of my career that I am, I can do that.”

He continued, “As the interim heavyweight champion, going and winning the UFC undisputed heavyweight championship, I am definitely up for that.”

Francis Ngannou has also expressed his urge in locking horns with a professional boxer and the two can possibly square off somewhere down the line. Both of them are elite strikers and have experience of more than one art of fighting, So, it makes sense to put the hard-hitters against each other in a blockbuster clash.
