At the pre-fight press conference for the Nate Diaz fight, speaking about his resume, Jake Paul questioned Floyd Mayweather’s contribution to the sport while claiming he sold more pay-per-views than the recent Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis fight. According to Paul, he has already done more for the sport than “any boxers in current history“. Thus, speaking about his resume in the sport, ‘The Problem Child’ also displayed immense pride in facing Nate Diaz in only his eighth fight.

Referring to how the founder of Most Valuable Promotions helped Amanda Serrano headline a fight inside the prestigious Madison Square Garden with Katie Taylor, Jake Paul questioned Mayweather’s contribution to women’s boxing. He even went to the extent of saying, “I’ve changed the whole entire game. Brought a new 70 million followers to the sport.”

Jake Paul questions Floyd Mayweather but remains factually incorrect

To begin with, Paul referred to Floyd Mayweather. “See, I’ve done more for the sport than any boxers in current history. What has Floyd Mayweather done for women’s boxing?” asked Paul. Having questioned Floyd Mayweather’s contribution to women’s boxing, ‘The Problem Child’ declared that the PPV buys of Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury exceeded that achieved by Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis. According to him, while Garcia vs. Davis sold only 800,000 PPV buys, his fight with Tommy Fury sold 830,000 PPV buys worldwide.

The list goes on. I’ve put on bigger pay-per-views than some of these Hall-of-Fame guys. Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis – 800,000 pay-per-view buys. Me vs. Tommy? 830,000 [pay-per-views]. You wanna talk about resume? I’m building it up, buddy.” Anyway, it is with a great feeling of sorrow that one shall inform Paul that Garcia vs. Davis sold over 1.2 Million PPV buys on all platforms and significantly exceeded the PPV buys of his bout with Fury.

However, Paul, who promised to knock out Nate Diaz, also branded the same as “one of the biggest MMA fighters in history.” “This is my 8th fight, and I’m fighting Nate Diaz.
