Recently, American Promoter and MMA veteran Chael Sonnen posted a video on YouTube about Mike Tyson’s embarrassing encounter with Hasbulla. And in that video, Sonnen also revealed the marketing tricks that were being used back in the 1990s, to promote the former Heavyweight boxer. The other day, Mike Tyson had the famous Russian Internet personality, Hasbulla, on his podcast where Hasbulla was indulging in his usual gimmick. He went to Tyson and started playfully punching him, but things turned around a bit when ‘Iron’ Mike picked Hasbulla up and treated him like a kid.

The internet was blazed up, and everyone started feeling uncomfortable, as Hasbulla is a 20-year-old man who was being treated as a child by Tyson. So, amidst all the backlash, Chael Sonnen also made a video about the matter where he revealed some past promotion secrets about the former Heavyweight boxer at the beginning of the Youtube video.

Sonnen said, “This is how they promoted Mike Tyson, they asked a question. This is way back in the 90s, early! Like he just got out of the pen. Said name another Heavyweight you’d rather see fight, that’s how they promoted him. They said name another Heavyweight you’d rather see fight. You win, you got me.

As everybody knew who they wanted to see, so it was apparent that Tyson got as famous as he was, because everyone wanted to see ‘Iron’ Mike take on heavy hitters after he got out of prison. It is worth mentioning that the former two-time Heavyweight champion is one of the greatest boxers to ever grace the squared circle and there are a lot of things a new fighter can learn from him. Sonnen however, stated in his video that Tyson shouldn’t be anybody’s idol.

Sonnen comments on Tyson’s drug habbits

The American promoter talked about how Tyson is respected even outside of boxing and refreshed everyone’s memory when the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Glover Teixeira, had Mike Tyson in his corner, and how much respect all the MMA fighters had for ‘Iron’ Mike. He further goes on to show his disappointment, as he stated that Tyson has turned into a “drug addict”. Well, not just Tyson, recently Sonnen also claimed that Joe Rogan is on “drugs”.
