Claressa Shields has broken as well as made a lot of records, in the history of boxing and sports in general. She’s the first one ever to become the Undisputed champion in two different divisions, although the same feat has just been recently achieved by Terence Crawford. But Shields did it first. Also, she’s the first American to hold 2 Olympic Gold medals for her country. Being the 3-division world champion, along with all the other achievements, puts Shields in a different league altogether, in not only women’s boxing but in the entirety of the sport.
Recently, she celebrated the 7th anniversary of her second Olympic Gold medal. She shared some pictures on her Instagram and expressed her happiness in the caption. She wrote, “I STILL CRY SOMETIME WHEN I WATCH THE FOOTAGE! THE ONLY 2x Olympic Gold medalist for the USA ! It’s an honor ! I’m humbled by the support and love!” Fans couldn’t contain themselves as they made their opinions known.
