Sylvester Stallone, Mike Tyson & Other Stars Watch UFC Legend’s Saddening Farewell

UFC 281 fight card was probably the most hyped fight card of this year. It brought two title clashes, one rivalry bout, and the most important of them all a bout of Frankie Edgar, the UFC legend who had to hang up his gloves after losing to Chris Gutierrez in a first-round knockout in the bantamweight contest.

The UFC veteran’s saddening farewell was witnessed by boxing legend Mike Tyson and Rocky star Sylvester Stallone at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The former six-time champion sported a black printed denim shirt and pants. Before taking his sheet in the arena, he went into the dressing room and met the fighters of the night.

The lightweight legend Dustin Poirier clicked a few pictures with ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’.

UFC welcomed ‘Iron’ Mike in a grand manner. They showed respect to the legend by screening him and introducing him as a legend in the house.

Following Tyson’s presence, fans caught the glimpse of legendary action actor Sylvester Stallone. The heavyweight champion on the silver screen came up with his to enjoy the showdown. He was sporting a black T-shirt with blue jeans.

A tweet showed fans enjoying the presence of Rocky in the arena. The UFC Europe shared a clip and wrote, HE’S A WRECKING MACHINE ROCKY. @TheSlyStallone picked a damn good one to be Octagonside for! #UFC281.”

Edgar would have never expected his career would come to an end in this fashion. Before entering the octagon, he announced that it is going to be the last fight of his MMA career. But when he met Gutierrez, he fell short of leaving the impression.

At 2:01 minute of the first round, Gutierrez’s lethal knee caught the legend and knocked him out. Now, he will finish his career with a record of 24-11.

After the loss, Joe Rogan had a brief interaction with Edgar, he asked him several questions.

To which Edgar replied, “I love this sport, man. I didn’t wanna go out like that. This sport’s a b***h.”
