In the latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, host Rogan spoke about fear and fighter-mentality. He spoke with rapper Danny Brown regarding the magnitude of certain fighters that was enough to have their opponents accept defeat. In doing so, Rogan, the popular UFC commentator, alluded to the time Mike Tyson would fight. According to him, Mike Tyson, with his ferocity and strength, held such a magnitude about him that his opponents felt as if they would face execution once they stepped inside the ring with ‘Iron’ Mike.

The duo spoke about fear and the process of losing. While Danny Brown was shedding light on what he thought about fear and losing, Rogan interfered and referred to ‘Iron’ Mike. “This is what you’re saying. You’re not saying that he’s thinking that he’s gonna lose or that he’s scared to lose. What you’re seeing is the magnitude of the guys he’s about to fight.”

“And you can’t change that. It doesn’t change how a man performs once he is under stress but you can’t ignore the magnitude,” expressed Rogan saying.

Rogan went on and describe what Tyson’s opponents possibly felt. According to Rogan, they looked as if they were getting executed at Tyson’s fights.

While Rogan narrated Brown listened eagerly. “If you ever go back and watch Mike Tyson fights – this is what you see at the best. When dudes were walking into that ring to fight Mike Tyson they looked like they were being executed,” Rogan said. Such was the magnitude that Tyson demonstrated in the boxing ring.

Although a fight with the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ conveyed an impressive resume in boxing, often fighters felt different. According to Rogan, fighters observed deaths. Following this realisation, Rogan said, “They were going to their deaths. They were getting arrested. Getting processed. They had this look on their face that said, ‘Fu*k!’.”
