He further emphasized the seriousness of his decision. Fury added, “I can live without boxing. I always said, When I walk away. I’ll never come back. Never.”
Even after the fight, Fury was sure to stick to his decision. In the post-fight interview, he said, “You know I promised my lovely wife Paris of 14 years that after the Wilder three fight that would be it and I meant it. It was a great trilogy but I meant that.”
He also mentioned that he took up the Whyte fight because he felt he owes it to the fans and to the people of the UK. He ended by saying that it is the final curtain for ‘The Gypsy King’.
Fury vs Anthony Joshua
However, Fury’s wife, Paris Fury, had a revelation that got fans intrigued about a possible comeback for the champ.
Paris Fury was talking in an interview with the Boxing UK.
In conversation, she revealed that a fight with Anthony Joshua might entice the champ to make a comeback from retirement. She mentioned, “I’d love it to be his last one. I personally, honestly, think if the AJ’s [Anthony Joshua] might come along, I think he’ll take it. I know he couldn’t resist, but I think the truth of it is he knows it probably won’t. So think, this might be his last fight.”
Fury vs Drew McIntyre
There has been a long-drawn speculation of a potential fight between Fury and former WWE champion, Drew McIntyre.
Recently, McIntyre, in an interview with ‘The Big Issue’, mentioned that Fury was stalking him. He said, “Tyson Fury is stalking me. It’s the most bizarre sentence. I’d wake up every day and I’ve got another message on social media.”
In retaliation, Fury made a video responding to McIntyre. He hilariously refers to McIntyre as his ‘long-haired boyfriend’ who can’t stop thinking about him.
