No other athlete carries the weight of expectations like Sha’Carri Richardson. After failing to qualify for Tokyo Olympics 2020, Richardson made a comeback during the Nike Prefontaine Classic race but did not finish the race well. Despite all that, she is back. Back to compete in the Brussels Diamond League, the American sprinter is all set for a showdown against bronze medalist from the 100m race in Tokyo, Shericka Jackson.

The duel would be an interesting matchup between these two talented athletes.

Sha’Carri Richardson is out of form

The American sprinter could not qualify for the Tokyo Olympics after failing a doping test. The World Anti-Doping Agency issued a month-long ban on the athlete which kept her out of Tokyo.

However, she returned in the recent Nike Prefontaine Classic against the top three Jamaicans, and finished last amongst all the competitors. Despite all the pre-race hype, the sprinter could not muster up a good performance. Moreover, she received flak for her conduct after the race. Although she has already broken records in the 100-meter race, Richardson has not peaked yet.

Namibian wonder kids Beatrice Masilingi and Christine Mboma, will take part in the race too. The Diamond League competition would probably be the last chance for Richardson to prove what she is all about. Despite setting a good time in the US trails, things have gone south since then for the sprinter.
