Brutal Finish! Jairzinho Rozenstruik Destroys Former UFC Champion in 29 Seconds

That’s what happens in the heavyweight division. You only need one to get the job done. Jairzinho Rozenstruik reminds us that again as he knocks out the former champion, Andrei Arlovski.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik fought Andrei Arlovski on the prelims of the biggest fight card of the year, UFC 244 at Madison Square garden. Well, Rozenstruik did not have a long night at the Garden tonight, but his short stay inside the octagon was filled with absolute violence.

With a long and decorated kickboxing career of 76 wins(64 knockouts), Jairzinho Rozenstruik came into the sports of MMA with a hype around him and he has been able to do justice to that up to this point. His win against Arlovski is arguably the biggest in his MMA career (9-0).

The fight started with Rozenstruik throwing a barrage of punches at Arlovski and backing him up against the cage. On the cage, Arlovski ate some heavy hands. As he was trying to get his offense going, Jairzinho Rozenstruik backed up, created space and landed a powerful and precise left hand to face plant the former champion. The fight was stopped in 29 seconds of the first round.

Post the 29 seconds KO win, Jairzinho Rozenstruik said:

“It was a moment for me, even when I was done and standing in there, I made it already. Now I got the win and I feel even better. Now on to the next one. For sure I want another one this year, if it’s open for me, I’ll go right away.”

Rozenstruik also wished for a fight with former UFC champion, Alistair Overeem after the win. He also said that Dana White’s speech before the fight was helpful as he said:

“Dana White came into the locker room and he gave us a speech. man, that did something to me. It woke me up, ‘hey boy, this is your chance, you got to do it right now. So it did something to me. I woke up with that mindset and I went with that mindset into the octagon. And I just got the win.”
