Buccaneers Head Coach Bruce Arians Talks About His Decision to Move on From Jameis Winston to Tom Brady
“I think he was very happy just with the players in the roster and the coaches. And now, with any great player Tom at that position, if we’re thinking about signing Gio Bernard, for example, I’ll let him know, ‘Hey, thinking about signing Gio Bernard, a little push might help’. He’s like, ‘I’m on it, love that kid’.”
Tom Brady stays very involved with his franchise
Licht added that Brady also played a role in the franchise signing Leonard Fournette before the start of the last season. Brady was a big fan of Fournette and wanted to do everything in his power to help his franchise bring him in.
Licht believes that Brady appreciates how much the team tries to keep him as involved as possible. But he doesn’t use his influence to strong-arm the team into bringing certain players.
