Call of Duty League 2021: Latest Changes in Maps and New Restricted Weapons

Following the various structural changes that Call of Duty League 2021 went through last year, it is time for some more. The first revision of rules for the new year is out. The League decided to make some changes to the current map pool. Moreover, it also restricted certain weapons from the competitive set.

The new rules come after the changes in the weapon meta after the Season One of Black Ops Cold War. Moreover, the return of the Raid map in the game has also inspired changes in the map pool. The league has added the classic Call of Duty map in Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control. It has also switched out a map each from these modes.

Call of Duty League 2021 January 7 change log

The change log for maps starting from January 7, 2021, is:

  • Map & Modes List
    • Hardpoint: Added Raid and removed Cartel
    • Search & Destroy: Added Raid and removed Crossroads
    • Control: Added Raid and removed Moscow

Apart from these maps, the Call of Duty League restricted players from using certain primary weapons. To the list of restricted weapons, the League added four tactical rifles.

The full list of all the rules and regulations along with the changes are available on the official Call of Duty League 2021 website. Fans worldwide have appreciated the return of Raid in the competitive map pool. They would love to see their favorite teams battle it out in one of the classic Call of Duty maps.

The new restrictions, however, are something that the fans find a tad bit uncomfortable. With these four new restricted weapons, a total of 12 primary and secondary weapons are out of the competitive pool. The audience of the League is upset because more and more weapons are excluded from the gameplay. Therefore, they have to witness a majority of players using the same weapon and the same loadouts.

Since there is a lack of variety in gameplay, fans are afraid they might get bored with the league really soon. However, the professionals always have new tricks up their sleeves. Therefore, they will make sure fans a performance worth their time and money.
