Adrien Broner seems relentless in his bid to reclaim the lost glories of his career. Despite sustaining a scathing injury last year, the fighter is back in the gym and how.

In June last year, Broner entered the ring for the first time since 2021. For the Miami fight against Bill Hutchinson, the Cincinnati native defeated his opponent, who was on a ten-time winning streak since 2016. In the wake of the splendid victory, Broner booked a fight against Chris Howard slated to happen in December. However, his trainer Kevin Cunningham informed Boxing Scene that the fighter had incurred an injury while fighting Hutchinson which deteriorated later while sparring in the gym. While his doctor advised him some time off from the ring, his resilience powered through, and he was yet again seen in the gym a few hours ago.

Fans Rally Behind Adrien Broner

On X, Boxing Kingdom posted a video of the 34-year-old in the gym showcasing his signature fast jabs. The video was earlier shared by the fighter himself on his Instagram stories and was taken in Stacy’s King Cobra Boxing Club, Florida. While fans were mostly impressed by his skills, some had a few critical comments to make.

One fan acknowledged the brilliant shape the boxer has maintained.

However, another user compared Broner to Jarrell Miller, a heavyweight boxer, insinuating that the fighter has bulked up.

Another fan invoked Broner’s turbulent past. Adrien Broner after his 2021 win against Jovanie Santiago was marred with controversies, mainly due to his drinking issues and gambling issues.

Another fan suggested Broner to maintain his shape, highlighting that the clock was ticking in his career.

A fan suggested Adrien Broner to compete in the heavyweight class. A jab at his current shape or a wish to see him in the heavier weight class.

While Broner was left to deal with his hand injury, his promoter Don King went ahead with the Casino Miami event. Now with promising signs of recovery, Broner has suggested possible opponents for a February fight.

Winner of Haney vs. Prograis/ Rolly possible opponents

In the wake of his Howard fight falling through, Broner hinted at not stopping despite his injury. While vowing to return in February, he sought a fight against the winner of Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis. In December, Haney defeated the former super lightweight champion to secure the title. However, Broner might not get the Haney fight since the latter is slated to fight Ryan Garcia soon.

Broner also suggested fighting Rolly Romero. He noted, “The h*ll with tune-up fights. I’m ready to take on any of the champions in the 140- and 147-pound division. I’m ready to fight the big guys. Everything they think I don’t have, I still got. I’m ready to fight Ryan Garcia or Rolando Romero or the winner of the Regis Prograis vs. Devin Haney fight.”
