What would be your strategy to grab the attention of legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.? Write him letters? Sing his praises, or something else… Well, here is a millionaire’s way that has proved to work in his favor. The $600 million worth Grant Cardone has revealed the way through which he managed to impress the boxer, and it is something that does not seem that difficult.

Grant Cardone is a world-known entrepreneur, author, speaker, and coach who started the highly acclaimed business conference, titled after his book, ‘10x Growth’ Conference. At the 2020 edition of the conference, one of the speakers on the panel was Floyd Mayweather. The boxer agreed to make the appearance to speak about his career in the ring, his business choices, and his investing patterns. Today, three years later, the millionaire has opened up about how he managed to get the boxer for the stint, and what he did to completely impress him.

Chapter 1: How to get Floyd Mayweather for your event?

In a conversation with DJ Vlad, Cardone outlined how he managed to fulfill a very ambitious task of getting ‘Money’ Mayweather for his 2020 10x Growth Conference. The event was attended by about 12,400 people and was held at the massive Mandalay Bay Hotel Convention Center, in Nevada.

The motivational writer-speaker outlined how difficult it could be to get someone like the boxer for an event. He said, “Floyd’s been in every arena in the world. How do I bring Floyd in, and hit him so hard that he’s like, shit man, this is amazing. So how do you do that when this guy, I mean all these people that you’re bringing up, they’ve been in every freaking room in the world.”

However, his team identified one gap that has proven to work in getting massive celebrities to attend such events. He explained, “And so we figured how to do it in our 10x growth conference. The number one person I am trying to impress is not the audience that bought the ticket, it’s the guy that’s coming in for me to interview. Because if he has a moment, that means, everybody else has one.”

And it worked. Money attended the event, and he spoke passionately, keeping the audience captivated till the end.

Chapter 2: How to impress ‘Pretty Boy’?

A massive crowd stood there awaiting the biggest phenomenon in boxing- Floyd Mayweather. And when he arrived, it was clear a legend had come. A rap with the constant iteration of ‘Money’ in the background, with bills raining over the stage, and the crowd cheering on top of their lungs, he got a welcome befitting to his moniker. It was the start of many such steps that the organizers took to keep Money impressed.

Reasons to impress him? Well, an impressed speaker is a detailed speaker. And indeed so. In the conference, the undefeated champion spoke vividly about his plans for finance and asset investments. The interviewer, Cardone himself, employed a questioning pattern that would scrape out as much information as possible from Floyd. Talking about the technique, Cardone said, “And so Floyd was phenomenal, I brought him in. You can see the opening. We just kept hitting him with like over and over again with acknowledgment, until Floyd was like, okay bro, I’m impressed.” The introduction and line of questioning did indeed work in Cardone’s favor. Have a look at it by yourself.

Mayweather patiently broke down the intricacies of his way through the ladder to extreme wealth. For instance, Cardone asked Mayweather to explain the logic behind owning his luxury watch collection. Despite being refused an answer on this front, he continued. In his brilliant way of questioning, he asked, “I need some help. Help a little man out.” And then Floyd opened up.

Floyd’s conversation with Grant Cardone was successful, to say the least. He leveraged every bit of the wisdom Floyd brought and helped give the audience a deeply insightful conversation. The interview was so rich because of Floyd’s acumen in the field, yes. However, it also came down to how he was asked those questions. On that front, Cardone completely aced it!
