New Beginnings for Jake Paul

If anything, ‘Problem Child’ is a fighter of great gumption. He has strategically placed himself as the disruptor of the combat space with each fight he’s undertaken. While he has continuously come under fire for being someone who’s not trained traditionally for the sport, he has put off his critics by just moving ahead with his fights. Now, in similar attempts, he has bagged a PFL deal.

In the last few months, the Professional Fighters League (PFL) has inked some high-profile deals. Leading this movement is Jake Paul. As soon as the Diaz fight elapsed, talks about a rematch in MMA format surfaced. While Paul was all set to move on, Diaz insisted on a boxing rematch. The back-and-forth came in the backdrop of Problem Child signing a deal with the PFL in early 2023. As per sources, he will headline a PFL fight in early 2024.

26-year-old Paul inked a 2-phase exclusive collaboration with the promotions company to become the first fighter in its novice PPV division. Later on, notable fighters like Francis Ngannou, Amanda Serrano, and Kayla Harrison would also join this mission to revamp the MMA ecosystem by offering fighters 50% revenue shares. With Jake Paul’s recent X post, fans have chimed in to gauge the realities of the “big news”.

Fans question Problem Child’s big news

Jake Paul’s nickname perfectly captures his presence in the combat sphere. Problem Child has been the scourge of criticism ever since he stepped into the ring. Now, with his venture into the cage, the moniker continues to move along with him.

A fan asked Paul to delete the picture as they believed he was a disgrace to the MMA culture.

However, another fan doubled down on his efforts to move into the next format of combat. The fan rallied for a Diaz fight.

A fan implored if Paul had an Olympics announcement to make. Sarcasm? Hopes? Hard to tell!

Recently there have been talks about PFL acquiring Bellator MMA. The promotions company is owned by Viacom and reports have suggested that the former has most certainly struck a deal to take it over. A fan highlighted the change that such an acquisition would herald.

Another fan echoed the question that most of Paul’s fans have. Will Paul now headline MMA?
