Bucks Injury Report: Latest on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Availability Ahead of Hornets Clash
Follow Us
Milwaukee Bucks star player Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a prominent driving force for his team during the ongoing NBA season. Out of the 56 games in which he has appeared in, the player has managed to average an astonishing 30.8 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists. Even though the Bucks recently had to undergo a management change with Doc Rivers becoming the new head coach, the team is managing well in holding its own and is currently ranked as the 3 seed on the Eastern Conference points table.
The Bucks are set to face off against the Charlotte Hornets within the next few hours. Fans have been doubtful about Giannis’ availability, who sustained a knee injury not so long ago. Their minds, however, would seem to be at ease after the release of the latest injury report.
As per senior writer for The Athletic, Eric Nehm, Antetokounmpo, who is suffering from right knee patellar tendinitis, has been listed as ‘probable’ on the injury report. The update also highlighted that Khris Middleton (left ankle sprain), Ryan Rollins (two-way), and TyTy Washington Jr. (two-way) have been placed in the ‘out’ category. This means that while three of Giannis’s teammates cannot participate in the latest game, there is a very good chance that the ‘Greek Freak’ will be made available to participate in the Hornets clash.

The 29-year-old player developed the knee injury after facing off against the Miami Heat almost two weeks ago. While the news was not something that any Bucks fans were expecting, they might have still been thankful that the injury was sustained on a different knee and not the one on which the player got surgery during the offseason. While the wound was a hindrance, it didn’t stop the player from participating in the 3 games that took place in its aftermath. If his determination helped him to get through those games, then it would not stop him from contributing in this one.

Giannis Antetokounmpo excelled during the recent matchup against the 76ers
After getting marked as ‘probable’ on the injury report two days ago, Giannis made an appearance during the Bucks’ recent game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The occasion marked a bittersweet moment for Doc Rivers, as he was guiding the Bucks to face off against the very same team that he had coached for the last 3 years.
Milwaukee’s defense remained doubtful for quite some time, especially during the third quarter. The team, however, made up for it by dominating offensively, shooting almost 54.4% from the line. While Damian Lillard (24 points) and Malik Beasley (20 points) were valuable contributors, the real MVP continued to be the injury-ridden ‘Greek Freak’, who dropped an almost triple-double with his 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists. Once the 76ers were defeated by 21 points, there remained very little doubt about the unstoppable force that is Giannis Antetokounmpo.
