This wasn’t the first time that the four-time NBA champion chose to direct his praise towards the SC sophomore. During one of her first games back in November 2023, Fulwiley impressed onlookers by making a coast-to-coast play, making a fake behind-the-back pass to confuse her opponent and then dashing towards the basketball hoop and depositing the ball through it. The layup impressed Curry so much that he highlighted a clip of the same on his story and wrote a caption that read “I SEE YOU @LAYWITDABUTTER”.
When one of the greatest basketball players of the modern generation chooses to highlight your work on social media, then you know that you must be doing something right.

There have been quite a few instances where in college basketball players have looked up to a certain NBA athlete as their mentor. Angel Reese was lucky enough to find that in Shaquille O’Neal, while Bronny James has his father LeBron James as a guiding light. Similarly in that fashion, Milaysia Fulwiley has found her mentor in the Warriors legend.
During an interview back in 2022, Fulwiley discussed a phone conversation she had with Curry. Her appreciation seemed to know no bounds after she received some advice from the NBA player himself.

“It’s always good to have a mentor like Steph Curry. Who wouldn’t want to be in touch with someone like Steph Curry?” said Fulwiley. “A legend like Steph Curry, he’s like the GOAT, so it’s like, that’s crazy, that I even had the opportunity to even speak with him”. While she credited LeBron for teaching her the behind-the-back move, she claimed that it was Curry who helped in improving her 3-pointers.
