CM Punk’s Strong Advocacy for Pride Community Gets Massive Support From AEW

Former WWE superstar CM Punk regularly finds himself in the headlines. Be it for his promos or backstage antics, there’s no denying that the AEW star knows how to grab the attention of his fans. This time, The Second City Saint entered the limelight due to a good reason, that augurs well for the LGBTQ+ community. Punk has also received the support of his current employer in his endeavor.
It comes just days after he was seen wearing a trans pride shirt on the latest episode of AEW Collision.
AEW announces limited-time offer after CM Punk’s support for LGBTQ+ people

CM Punk returned to AEW in June of this year after remaining absent from its program since September 2022. Punk was the biggest draw as Tony Khan’s promotion launched its third weekly show, Collision. Since the first episode, Punk has been advocating strongly for the rights of the pride community.

It was also on full display as he wore a T-shirt with a redesigned version of his ‘Best in the World’ catchphrase. Punk’s dress displayed the transgender flag. Now, AEW has offered to support the cause.

On its Shop AEW X profile, the promotion tweeted a deal. The version of Punk’s T-shirt will be available on the official website till August 22. The tweet further mentioned that 100 percent royalties from the sales will be donated to The Trevor Project- an organization that prevents suicides among the LGBTQ+ community.
Punk has been a massive supporter of LGBTQ+ rights in the recent past. He took up the issue during the June 17 episode of Collision.
CM Punk reveals why he supports gay rights
During the said episode of Collision, which was the first for the new show, CM Punk teamed with AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR- comprising Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood. The trio took on the team of Samoa Joe, Jay White, and Juice Robinson.
After winning the main event match, Punk addressed the backlash he received for promoting Pretty Cool Ice Cream, a company that supports trans people. He grabbed a poster from the crowd that read “Support LGBTQ+ Youth”, took it from the fan, and brought it inside the ring.

Punk said, “The reason I support trans kids, trans grown-ups, gays and lesbians is because I know when I was growing up, I didn’t fit in anywhere.”
“…somebody who’s gay, lesbian, and especially trans, I don’t know what it feels like to be trapped in a body that I don’t feel I belong in. That is why I support that. Because I know I didn’t fit in anywhere until I found pro-wrestling.” he added.
This will no doubt come as a boost for the community as Punk is a big name in the pro wrestling world, who has had a successful stint in the WWE and now continues to enthrall the AEW crowd.
