After the Chelsea legend and their long time goalkeeper Petr Cech decided to move to their London rival team Arsenal, the Blues seek their respite in Asmir Begovic, the present Stoke City goalkeeper.

The team from London hopes to attain his services before the start of the season, even though their £6 million bid was rejected by the Potters.  Jose Mourinho wants to replace their missing piece as soon as possible by putting up a higher bid within the next 48 hours. Stoke considers Begovic to be at least worth £8 million and a player being loaned from Stanford Bridge. Victor Moses, although seems reluctant to play as a loanee for the same club he played last season for.

Begovic, who signed for the Potters from Portsmouth back in 2010, would be kept as a backup goalkeeper, in any case as Thibaut Courtois would be given the preferential position. This was also one of the reasons Cech decided to pursue his career elsewhere. Yet, the Bosnian goalkeeper seems keen to join the Premier League winners, with only one year left on his contract at Britannia Stadium. Chelsea are prepared to give the man double the wages he was being at Stoke to try persuade him. Being one of the most under-rated goalkeepers in the Premier League, he is definately a man to look out for.

Chelsea was also considering Rob Green, the QPR man as a secondary goalkeeper, but it has died own as Begovic’s interest rises on this deal. He was a constant target for Manchester United as well as Real Madrid, back since 2010 but Chelsea had made their intentions clear as they had failed to sign him back then with a failed £4 million bid.

Stoke are ready to present their secondary goalkeeper, Jack Butland first team spot, as the U-21 English captain has promising talent.
