Request to change home-base

Previously Rajasthan Royals put forward a request to the IPL committee to grant moving their home base from Jaipur’s Mansingh Stadium. The primary reason for this request is the harassment the franchise has been tolerating from officials for the last couple of years.

According to Times of India, the officials of the team said, “Be it at the state’s sports council, under whose aegis the Rajasthan Cricket Association(RCA) falls, the state machinery catering to law and order, the former officials of the RCA itself and the political bigwigs in the state…they’ve all collectively given Rajasthan Royals nothing but trouble over the years.”

Unfortunately for the team, the request did not receive permission. On the contrary, the franchise faced a PIL from petitioners which stated that moving the home base from Jaipur to Guwahati will be an embarrassment for Rajasthan.
