England national squad’s star batsman Jos Buttler believes that the break the players are getting from the lockdown is going to benefit them in the future.
The players always end up with severe fatigue due to the overwhelming schedules. For example, England plays home matches during the summer and then tour during the winters. However, the Coronavirus outbreak brought all the international schedules to a halt. The English season is not likely to commence until the 1st of July at least.

Jos Buttler said that right now players might not realise it but in the future they will look back at this lockdown with appreciation.
“I think, maybe in years to come you’ll potentially look back on it as a big benefit.”

Moreover, Buttler adds that this is an unusual period in everyone’s life. Players will never get this time back. He takes the example of New Zealand Rugby players who take sabbatical breaks to give themselves both mental and physical break.
“To have a complete break both physically and mentally could potentially add a few years to the career and you’ll hopefully see some benefits from the break. I know rugby is a very physical game but if you look at some New Zealand players who have taken a sabbatical for a period of time, it could potentially have a positive effect on us as England players.”

The span of the England season has been reduced. However, the team still hopes to complete six Test evenly distributed between Pakistan and West Indies. Furthermore, it is hopeful they will be able to complete limited-overs match with Ireland, Australia, and Pakistan.
The British Government has started relaxing the lockdown restrictions. Certain recreational sports will commence while maintaining social distance.
