His selection for number 6 position is Jacques Kallis. According to Mike Hussey, Kallis almost has the record of Ricky Ponting in terms of batting and Brett Lee in terms of bowling.

Hussey talks about Kallis’s records and ends by saying – “Which is very impressive.”

On a separate note – Jacques Kallis is one player who is making it to almost every best XI.

Initially Mike Hussey struggles with number 7 but settles with giving it to Kumar Sangakkara. In fact, he selects him as the wicket keeper as well. He feels that Sangakkara is a worthy selection based on the batsmen he has already picked.

Coming to the bowling department, his number 8 selection is Dale Steyn. The number 9 slot goes to Monte Morkel. Hussey says that Morkel’s deliveries are always in attack mode.

One of the reasons why Mike Hussey’s best XI does not include certain other renowned players is because of his debut with the Australian squad. The Australian player was almost 30 when he first played with the national team. However, it seems as though he did not make any efforts in remembering any Pakistani players. There are some who will eventually go on to feel that this is a rather biased selection.
