In a twist of irony, Daniil Kvyat, nicknamed the Torpedo, was himself torpedoed off the track. This time, it was Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo who was the aggressor, during the Azerbaijan GP. As it turned out, Ricciardo was lining up a move when he got it wrong and went wide.

Kvyat was left with nowhere to go and nearly went into the wall as a result of the divebomb. Luckily, nobody hit the wall, though a bizarre incident occurred when Ricciardo tried to reverse and clipped Kvyat.

While no major harm was done, something happened and both drivers were forced to retire. This incident took place during the closing stages of the race while the two were squabbling for points.

As a result, their sole surviving teammates, Nico Hulkenberg and Alexander Albon had to fly their respective flags alone. Sadly, both teams missed out on a point-scoring finish.
