Normally, most Finns prefer to drink their champagne instead of spraying it and this was popularised by a certain Kimi Raikkonen. Since then, a number of Finnish drivers opt to drink the champagne and not waste it. Emma Kimilainen evidently thought that she should do the same.

What made the moment even more hilarious was the fact that when Powell went to spray Kimilainen, she simply waved her to stop and then she continued drinking.

Emma Kimilainen has one W Series race win under her belt, winning the first Assen race. After crashing out of the inaugural race in Hockenheim, she withdrew from the next two races as the crash aggravated an old neck injury. During the seven round season, she finished in the top 5 in all but the opening race. Had she not withdrawn, Kimilainen would have likely finished higher in the championship.

The W Series raced in Hockenheim, Zolder, Misano, Norisring, a double header in Assen, where the second race was a non-championship round with a reverse grid, and Brands Hatch.
