MrBeast reveals the true story after fake money accusations
The YouTuber, clearing the air, accepted that he did not use real money, listing security risks as the reason behind it. Revealing the details of the purpose of the counterfeit notes, he said, “Long story short, if you have hundreds of people in one location, and you’re just handing out tons of money – if you’re handing out actual, real money, there are safety and security risks.”
He also indirectly hints at jealousy amongst humans as a common trait, which was also one of his reasons. MrBeast stated, “Imagine when I give someone $10k, and they walk out the door, and all these other people see that you have $10k. As a responsible person, I can’t do that.”
Furthermore, he explains there was a “security reason” factor to this, highlighting, “We can’t have six figures in actual cash there. …it’s just not responsible.”

MrBeast also added that it is easier to write cheques to the receivers rather than giving actual cash. With this said, it makes sense as to why Jimmy would have opted to go for counterfeit bills.
