The announcement of the rename option, although it came a day prior, is in correlation with Cassidy’s addition to the roster as per the blog post. Starting October 22nd, Activision Blizzard has been allowing all members to change their BattleTag for free before November 5, 2021. However, this only applies to anyone who does not have a free name change available.
Individuals can register for the name change by filling a form. Although the form is not much of a hassle, the post form process can take up to four weeks. But waiting for a name change is better than having your friends call you the not-so-ideal alias you came up with in school, isn’t it?

Now, if you are thinking of stacking up the name change cards by filling the form, that isn’t happening. As per the official word from the creators of Overwatch, “Existing name changes will not stack for future use.” All additional alterations will require players to spend $10 USD. So don’t forget to make the best out of this opportunity to let go of that humiliating handle and come with a smart one.
