Regarding visual beauty, very few games stand with Alan Wake 2. The series was revived after 13 years of being slept upon and the devs at Remedy Entertainment have done a breathtaking job giving players a graphically rich horror world.

The sequel to the original Alan Wake takes players back into the disturbed mind of Alan and players need to yet again fight the horrors that live in his head. The game also gives players a chance to explore the world as Saga Anderson, which comes with a story of her own. Although the game is a sequel, it is leaps and bounds better than the original game when it comes to graphics.

Alan Wake 2 vs 1080 Ti

Nvidia’s GEForce 1080Ti was the best graphics card in the market when it launched back in 2017. While the GPU is still known to run various titles on high resolution, Alan Wake 2 is a different case altogether. Upon the launch of the game, many players were excited to try out the horror survivor but were met with disappointment when they tried it with GPUs from the GTX series.

Many players using a 1080 Ti struggled to play the game at 1080p on 30 FPS. This might come as a shock to many, but the devs made it clear that the minimum requirement for the GPU is the RTX 2060. While the 1080 Ti might be a more powerful GPU than the 2060, the RTX series has a few tricks up its sleeve. The RTX series of GPUs uses Nvidia Tensor Cores, which bring AI and deep learning capabilities.

While these are just the minimum requirements to play the game at 30FPS, it is recommended that at least an RTX 3070 be used to achieve 60FPS. Although these requirements might look like too much, the game is definitely extremely demanding. Players trying to play the game on the PC might face some difficulties while the consoles remain unbothered. With the game being optimized for the Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5, it truly fits as a game that was made for the “next-gen” consoles.

Another went on to say that Alan Wake 2 is their game of the year. Considering the games that stand a chance at GOTY this year, it is a pretty high bar!

For some players, the experience on Xbox was far better than others as they faced no frame-pacing issues there.
