Battlefield 2042: How To Pre-Load the Beta Ahead of the Technical Preview This Week

The first beta testing session of Battlefield 2042 is almost here! Developers DICE recently revealed the exact dates and details of the technical preview in an official announcement. Now, before the event goes live on all platforms, DICE is giving Battlefield fans an option to pre-load the beta.

Battlefield 2042’s beta is scheduled for this week, with the open beta kicking off on the 8th of October. And of course, the devs have something special for customers who pre-ordered the game; the early access beta will run its course from 6th to 8th of October before opening for everyone.

Battlefield 2042: every Beta Pre-Load Detail You Need to Know

As per earlier announcements, the beta will not require PlayStation owners to have a PlayStation Plus subscription. Unfortunately, the same is not true for Xbox fans. EA’s beloved FPS franchise’s new title, Battlefield 2042, will require all Xbox owners to have a Gold subscription to access the beta and try it for themselves.

In a frequently asked section of the blog post, DICE decided to answer all the questions fans might have about the testing. Additionally, the post also revealed the title will not pop up in your console library. Users will have to pre-load the beta from their respective platforms not to miss out on anything Battlefield 2042 promises to offer.

The pre-loads went live today (October 5, 2021) at 12 AM PT / 03 AM ET.

What can fans expect to see in the Beta

The fan’s expectations are very high after the devs announced the return of the iconic sandbox mode Conquest. This mode will introduce the Orbital, a new map coming to the franchise. Two teams of 64 (32 for console) will battle it out on the field to control sectors consisting of several flags placed around the map.

The devs also revealed the 4 specialists players can pick up that will be coming to the game with the beta; namely Pyotr “BORIS” Guskovsky, Webster Mackay, Wikus “CASPER” Van Daele, and Maria Falck.

The early access goes live on Oct 6 at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET and the open goes live at the same time on October 8th. Both early access and open, end on October 10 at 12 AM PT/ 3 AM ET. In addition to customers who pre-ordered the game, the early access gameplay will also be available for all EA Play subscribers.
