What we know about the Battlefield Hub

EA has done a tremendous job hyping up their upcoming release, and the new Hub only adds to the allure. If one chose to go to Battlefield 2042’s official website, they would find the mode referred to as Redacted. And they would also find a caption beneath it. “Enter the wide universe of Battlefield in a new experience, designed as a love letter to our fans,” the caption reads.

Players can expect this mode to comprise maps from older titles. These maps will get remastered and be perfectly suitable for playing on modern systems and consoles. “In classic series maps that can hold up to 64 players for most maps, but 128 in certain locations and on new-gen consoles in others,” renowned Battlefield leaker Tom Henderson says in a recent video.

The primary objective of this mode will be to provide players a super fun time and a sandbox experience. The fundamental controls from Battlefield 2042 will remain unchanged in the mode. And this means players won’t have to worry about adapting to unfamiliar control setups. The experience will be relevant to the new game since gameplay features will remain the same. But what will change are the weapons and vehicles on these maps. This means players can find themselves holding a gun from Battlefield 1 and going up against an enemy with a gun from Battlefield V.
