The 46th and current President of the United States Joe Biden has a pro-union image for himself. But recently he changed his sides by taking a stand for the Railway companies instead of the union. So many are calling him a traitor, including political Twitch commentator Hasan Piker.

This has been a really shocking factor for the union members as they thought that President Joe Biden might side with the Railway union, but instead, he went with the companies running the locomotive industry as he stated that it can affect the “economy”. Thus, it seems that many are unhappy with his recent favorites.

Hugh Sawyer, treasurer of Railroad Workers United, an organization that represents workers from various rail unions and carriers, stated, “He [Joe Biden] had the opportunity to prove his labor-friendly pedigree to millions of workers by simply asking Congress for legislation to end the threat of a national strike on terms more favorable to workers. Sadly, he could not bring himself to advocate for a lousy handful of sick days. The Democrats and Republicans are both pawns of big business and the corporations.”

Regarding the situation with the Railway workers, Hasan Piker explained by saying, “The tentative agreement was reached but the contract was not ratified as in the rank and file voting process did not get the necessary amount of votes to say that ‘hey, we the union Rank and file the act the members of the Union actually like the Senate of agreement.'”

Furthermore, Piker described the situation regarding the leaves of the workers by saying, “The point is they [railway workers] wanted sick leave and they were not offered sick leave. They got an increase in salary, but not sick leave when the whole point of the f**king thing was sick leave.”

What did Hasan Piker say in support of the union?

Later, Piker even verified the fact that the media is showing only a one-sided story for the situation rather than both sides. Hasan even said supporting the cause by saying, “Unfortunately, given the right-wing slant of capitalist media globally, that is oftentimes overlooked, they make it seem like there’s only one side that’s responsible for a work stoppage.”

Piker then said, “They always blame the workers they always say, ‘Oh well, why the f**k don’t the workers get back to work? They’re being selfish. They’re f**king over other workers.'”

Piker further said, “That is reactionary right-wing capitalist framing. What you should do instead, is bully the f**king Capital owners, because they are the ones who are not abiding by the reasonable demands that the workers make.”
