The Call Of Duty Black Ops: Cold War Multiplayer reveal is just a day away. The new Multiplayer format is going to usher in a new era for the COD eSports community. In addition, Black Ops: Cold War will be the platform of the 2021 League.

Furthermore, it will also mark the return of the 4v4 multiplayer format. Treyarch and Activision are working really hard at the moment to keep all the leaks off the internet before the actual reveal.

A couple of days ago, Activision issued DMCA strikes on anybody who posted leaks on the internet. The footage that had gone viral was recorded on a 2007 iPhone.

It has come been revealed that a few content creators and pros got a chance to play the game as early access. Some of the footage will probably go into the Multiplayer reveal trailer tomorrow.

Treyarch has informed that they are going to retain the same matchmaking algorithm from Modern Warfare. Therefore, Cold War will see the return of Skill Based Matchmaking (SBMM).

A new game means a load of new content for online creators. Nonetheless, SBMM ruins the content creating experience. Time and again players have complained that the SBMM should be done away with.

The devs opine that SBMM pairs well with Warzone, which is why it was included in Black Ops: Cold War as well. Thus content creators cannot create the gameplay they require to publish content in peace while playing ranked matches.

The continued ignorance towards ranked games will only make the public lobbies overly sweaty. This is one of the biggest reasons behind all the hate that is being directed towards Treyarch for retaining SBMM.

How does SBMM work in Call Of Duty?

Skill Based Match Making is a process by which the game connects a player into lobbies in multiplayer matches. Through SBMM players are added to lobbies with players that are equal or slightly above or below their skill level.

The skill level is decided based on statistics of the player from previous multiplayer matches. Players dislike SBMM because it makes ranked multiplayer matches a sweat fest.

Everyone in the lobby only plays for kills and people go out of their way to protect their rank. This ruins the general fun of the game and takes away variety.

Sometimes every player feels like laying back and enjoying a game without much effort. That is not possible for higher-ranked players through SBMM.

Most people were of the opinion that Modern Warfare was ruined due to this feature alone. Maybe Treyarch will listen to its dedicated patrons and trash SBMM?
