Call of Duty Warzone 2 released last year amid huge expectations from fans. Especially those who were hoping for it to be a step forward from its predecessor, the original Warzone. While the latest battle royale entry has managed to gain lots of popularity, it has also faced backlash from many players.

Perhaps the biggest reason for witnessing a mixed response in terms of gameplay is because of the new approach. Call of Duty Warzone 2, upon its debut in November 2022, introduced fresh mechanics to the players. Obviously, those who were habitual with the first installment’s features weren’t impressed with the ambitious overhaul. Among other changes, the format of looting is one that really went through a transformation – but for the worse. The ongoing method to loot items is something many users don’t admire. But now, it looks like the developing team has begun to listen to the feedback, following increased criticism from the past few weeks.

While sharing a recent tweet on the upcoming changes coming to Warzone 2 battle royale game, the makers also mentioned many other details. It seems like they are trying to regain the trust of the fans by delivering those features that they really want.

In one of the newest tweets from Infinity Ward, the developer revealed that looting is basically going back to its original form (from the first Warzone). “Player eliminations and all loot containers will now pop floating loot out onto the floor!” read the tweet.

This change will re-introduce the previously popular and traditional loot mechanism from 2020’s Call of Duty Warzone. It is also very common in other BR titles, like Epic Games’ Fortnite. This system allows you to quickly pick up the loot and get going without wasting a lot of time in figuring out the items.

Infinity Ward’s tweet teased more changes as well, but they didn’t mention any other details. There will be a new blog coming next week, which will possibly describe all the information players need to know. The battle royale will witness the arrival of Season 2 on February 15, 2023.
