As per this user named u/LuckyLuckLucker, the reference can be spotted while talking to Gideon Ofnir at the Roundtable Hold. During this moment, players get an option to learn more about some of the bosses they fight on their quest moving forward.
Gideon tells the protagonist the names of these bosses in an order: Godrick, Radahn, Rykard, Morgott, and Rennala. Here, according to the Reddit user, Elden Ring fans will notice that there’s been a tribute given to George R.R. Martin. It’s possible to highlight when looking at the first letter of the names of the first four bosses.

As pointed out by the Reddit user, it can’t be just a coincidence in Elden Ring. In fact, it may be a deliberately inserted reference to the game’s writer by using his initials. So ultimately, the first letters of the aforementioned bosses spell out as “GRRM”.
This is not the usual order players witness when they go against these mighty characters later in the fantasy RPG. It could be a case of pareidolia as well, but it’s hard to ignore for sure, especially now that this secret is revealed.
