“Cursed and Blessed!” – Nintendo Sends Fans Into Meltdown by Making History Alongside PlayStation

It seems like 2022 is turning out to be an unpredictable year for the gaming industry. Fans are witnessing one surprise after the other, and it’s just the second month of the year. Following the record deal between Microsoft and Activision, video game lovers just saw a new and unexpected scenario involving PlayStation.
No one saw it coming, probably, but it has happened eventually. PlayStation just announced its team-up with Nintendo for an upcoming sports title, MLB The Show 22. The latter was initially thought to be limited to Sony’s console and on Xbox.

It’s Nintendo x PlayStation, and fans can’t believe it!
MLB The Show 22 recently unveiled its main cover player for the game which is set to arrive in April this year. Los Angeles’ Shohei Ohtani has been chosen for the cover of the title. He’s the first Asian to receive this honor, of being on the cover of a MLB installment.
However, for more than Ohtani being the face of MLB The Show 22, the title has attracted attention for another reason. And that’s because PlayStation just revealed that it won’t just release for Sony’s platform, but also for the Nintendo Switch.

Fans have been losing their minds ever since the news was first broken on social media. Interestingly, Nintendo also confirmed this crossover on its own Twitter page.

It was unimaginable for the fans to see the Mario publisher’s logo during the beginning of MLB The Show 22‘s newest trailer, followed by PlayStation’s branding.
Most of the users were astonished and shocked to witness such—let’s call it—a miracle. Then, there were others who welcomed this move from the side of Nintendo to accept the first PlayStation game on its Switch console. And there were some fans who just couldn’t get over the image. “Cursed and blessed image at the same time,” one fan wrote.
