Dr Disrespect shares an interesting Mercedes tale

January 12th marked a memorable day for Cem Bolukbasi, seeing him officially become the first-ever driver to transition from F1 eSports to the FIA Formula 2 Championship. The Turkish driver became the first gamer ever to do so and will compete in the upcoming 2022 F2 Season racing with Charouz Racing System.

But was he the first one to be offered an opportunity? The two-time certainly had something to say.

Replying to a tweet by an industry insider, Jake Lucky, Dr Disrespect has now claimed he received a call from “The Mercedes Benz team” while he was topping the charts in the iconic Project Gotham Racing 3 on the legacy console, Xbox 360. The implication here is that he was offered a spot. However, he rejected the offer in the most Dr Disrespect-ful way possible by responding with “I don’t drive a Mercedes.”

While there’s no denying Herschel refuses to budge in any way, to want to drive a car better than Mercedes, Doc’s expectations would have to be sky-high.

Interestingly, Dr Disrespect recently founded his very own AAA gaming Studio, Midnight Society, to develop the perfect game after losing faith in all other studios out there.
