The studio’s head stated that it needs help from a prominent studio like EA to help build the major project Apex Legends. Truly, the game delivered on all accounts as the community flocked to the amazing Battle Royale game. These features were groundbreaking addition to the genre, and they helped propel the title to the top. Now, EA has taken a new pledge to offer these aforementioned features Patent free with the latest “Patent Pledge”. This will help other third-party studios to take advantage of these assets to produce a fantastic range of titles.

As per the report from PC Invasion, EA has decided to take the decision to enhance inclusion. The studio understands that adding key features like ping system, image processing, and more are vital for gamers with cognitive disabilities. These features have been developed to offer the necessary assistance for gamers and help create fair competition. Moreover, this move will ensure that other third-party can also create their titles that offer inclusivity for all.

Anyone can freely use these patents and implement our accessibility-centered IP in their own games to make them more inclusive. This pledge covers some of our most innovative technologies designed to break down barriers for players living with disabilities or medical issues. This includes those with vision, hearing, speaking or cognitive issues.”

However, the studio also stated that it reserves the right to terminate this pledge for any specific party if they try to file a patent themselves. The studio also confirmed that it is willing to add more features to the list in due time.
