However, in the latest viral CoD trend, fans are calling out some players for bringing back a very controversial feature from the OG Modern Warfare 2. Remember ‘noob tubing’? It has announced its arrival in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. 

Noob tubing clip takes the FPS community back to 2009’s Call of Duty days 

The fourth main installment of Call of Duty aka Modern Warfare 2 Days is being reminisced by the gaming fans. A gameplay clip from the latest release of CoD is going viral, showcasing the use of ‘Noob tubing’ on grenade launchers. 

While this slang brings back memories to the FPS veterans, a lot of you might be wondering what’s noob tubing? For those unaware, it’s a tongue-in-cheek nickname from the days of Call of Duty 4 and Medal of Honor, when the splash damage of a grenade launcher, which doesn’t require precision aim to deal considerable damage, unlike rifles, made it a viable option for rookie players trying to earn any points at all. Because of this, seasoned players frequently made fun of “noobs” by utilizing the straightforward “tube” of grenades in place of other weapons that demanded or rewarded more accurate aim.

Although the situation had gone a bit extreme for the original Modern Warfare 2, which introduced noob tubing to the FPS world, the initial glimpses of similar incidents in the new MW3 haven’t been received well by the gamers. 

The viral clip of a streamer witnessing noob tubing invited a lot of interesting reactions from the community.

A user straightaway called it an “evil against esportification.” It seems like the gamer wasn’t ready to go back to the OG days of noob tubing yet!

The disappointment is evident as other netizen expresses their angst against the clip.
