There are relatively few people who have ever considered doing what PlayStation did with its platforms. When the Magnavox Odyssey, the first video game console, was introduced, it had a stick and a button—an idea that had never been considered for a toy or electrical device before. The world had never seen a console before this one. But as was already noted, PlayStation went one step further and made the controls simple to use.

Every console had a controller before PlayStation, but none could facilitate gaming. There was even a time when all the major gaming companies sought to create a variety of intricate and ridiculous controllers in the hopes that they would revolutionise the gaming business, but they all fell short. Because of this, DualShock Controllers from PlayStation became the ideal model for upcoming console developers to follow. However, as they reveal their newest PS 5 DualSense Edge Controllers, even PlayStation can’t avoid getting viciously attacked by fans.

At Opening Night Live, it was revealed for the first time. A premium controller, the DualSense Edge appears to be Sony’s response to Xbox’s Elite controller line. Technically, the controller is fairly similar to the ordinary DualSense, but it has a few added features to make it more upscale. One may notice replaceable thumb stick caps and customizable dead zones, exactly like with the Xbox controller.

What do fans have to say?

Many fans that saw the images uploaded by an insider on Twitter, said that the placement of the back buttons are terrible because of the gripping issues.

Others asserted that some players’ play styles cannot be accommodated by the tiny paddles that were added to the controller. This is actually accurate, as the majority of gamers in today’s video games have fairly aggressive play styles.

Many people were actually perplexed by all the extra buttons and paddles that were added.

Notably, it is difficult to predict when PlayStation will actually reveal a release date and pricing for the controller. Additionally, people do not appear to be overly enthusiastic about the DualSense Edge Controller.
