It was only a matter of time before the announcement, regarding The Last of Us (2013) getting a series, came. The show is expected to air on HBO in 2022. The filming for the show is already underway and Jeffrey Pierce, the voice behind Tommy Miller, won’t be reprising his role in the series. Instead, he will be playing the role of a character named Perry. The voice actor has also seen the scripts for the series and has only good things to say about it. “I’ve read a couple of the scripts, and they are breathtaking,” he was heard saying recently.

“I think they’re the best scripts I’ve ever seen in terms of level of detail, level of texture, capturing of the essence of Joel and Ellie, and all the other characters.“, Mr. Pierce added, complimenting the scripts for the series some more.

What to expect from The Last of Us series
Given the level of success The Last of Us game from 2013 has received, it is no surprise that the much-adored, critically acclaimed game is finally getting a series of its own. The series is expected to contain elements of the game—it’s what the series is based on—but since it’s a series, it won’t be confined to the things the game was confined to. And this means the characters will get a lot more time to express themselves through dialogues.
The series will also shed light on certain incidents that took place in the games and probably will expand on them as well. This has made fans of The Last of Us very happy.
