In the memo, we get to learn that Altman was apprehensive about a new IP at first. But as Howard explains the details of the new proposed game, Altman’s curiosity also increases. As Howard explained that the game would not be a sequel to any of the current games, Altman was concerned. Altman was also curious to know more about an IP that would be Bethesda’s first new intellectual property in over two decades.
However, Howard mentions in his memo that Altman’s curiosity was piqued when he learned from the former that the new game would delve into the creation itself. Howard says that Altman was the first person who believed in Starfield and encouraged everyone at Bethesda to go ahead to materialize the vision. Howard also mentioned Phil Spencer, the Microsoft boss, for his unwavering support.
