Shenhe- Best Cryo support in Genshin Impact

Shenhe might be the first five-star character whose purpose is to boost only one specific element. The primary source of her damage comes from her elemental skill. After holding her elemental skill, everyone in the party, including herself, will get five or seven Icy Quills stacks, respectively. All these stacks get consumed with each hit and also grant you increase damage.

When your character holds Icy Quill, they receive an increased bonus in Cyro elemental damage based on Shenhe’s current ATK. Furthermore, other than Cryo characters, Anemo units can also get benefits of Shenhe’s buff if the opponent is marked with Cryo element.

Although Shenhe is a support character, having a high base attack plays an important role in her kit. All buffs that Shenhe provides are scaled by her base attack. Therefore, it’s important for players to focus on increasing Shenhe’s base attack, just like Bennett.

Since increasing attacks with the help of artifacts won’t be counted as a base attack, players don’t have to worry too much about the artifact set. Furthermore, if they don’t want to invest in Shenhe’s signature weapon, then focusing on increasing her energy recharge is the best choice. Shenhe has an energy cost of 80, which means players will face issues on keeping her burst up all time.

The best artifact sets to go with her are a four-piece set of Blizzard Strayer or Emblem of Severed Fate. Moreover, make sure to keep her energy recharge above 180% because of the high energy cost.

Weapon choice for Shenhe in Genshin Impact

Weapon plays an important role if you want Shenhe to release her full potential. In order to get great buffs, you need high base attack for which only five-star weapons are a significant choice. The five-star weapons have a high base attack as compared to four-star weapons.

Hence, the best choice weapon for Shenhe is her signature weapon Calamity Queller. Calamity Queller provides high base attack and ATK% as a sub-stat. Indeed, it’s the best slot in weapon for her but we know that not all players can spend their primogems on weapon banners. Therefore, the best four-star weapon for her would be Favonius Lance, which provides extra energy recharge.
