DICE’s latest creation, Battlefield 2042, has suffered a lot since its release last month and so have the players. It’s safe to say that the community was not pleased with the sixth mainline title. Thankfully, there still might be a ray of hope for Battlefield 2042 with the third and the biggest patch implemented today.

The third update rolled out across the world earlier today (December 2) at 3:20 AM ET/12:20 AM PT/ 8:20 AM GMT/ 1:50 PM IST. This brought forth quality of life enhancements, balance changes, and more than 300 bug fixes. Along with the fixes addressing the major issues in the game, DICE also introduced new weekly missions and new game mode layouts in the Portal mode.

The patch also introduced some fine-tuning updates to the specialists, weapons, audio glitches that affected footsteps, and much more. But many still wonder if these changes are enough to keep individuals playing the game. The games’ performance has been nothing but disheartening. And many even speculate the widely hyped Portal mode is good as dead.
DICE’s update plans hindered
While the developers’ intentions were to improve the players’ experience, there is a new hurdle in this already difficult journey. Following the release of the biggest Battlefield 2042 update, players are facing two new major issues that have not been observed previously. The devs speculate these may have occurred due to an issue that persists on DICE’s side and is working on the same.
As per reports, the new bug prohibits players from joining a server and sends them to the main menu. And as of now, the only fix is to retry. Unfortunately, that’s not where the problems end. Another bug in the PC variant disables the horizontal mouse input for gamers.

Thankfully, the devs provided a quick fix for this one via a tweet.
We've noticed some players on PC aren't able to use horizontal mouse input after Update #3 went live🖱️
Restore default settings by removing "PROFSAVE" files in My Documents > Battlefield 2042 > Settings to keep playing
