Here’s why we think 2023 would be the best year for Nintendo Switch

Nintendo’s console got a great start in 2017. Most games that were released for it were blockbusters. Even though its library was full of remasters and re-releases, the console’s portable nature assured great sales numbers.

Eventually, the console learned to stand on its own feet. For most of its life cycle, the hybrid functionality remained the prime selling point. Fans wanted it so they could play games like Skyrim and Doom 2016 on the go.

Eventually, games like The Witcher, Dying Light, and even the Metro series made their way to Nintendo Switch. And all of these games performed excellently, and some games like Alien Isolation even ran better than their PlayStation 4 counterparts.

Talking about Nintendo’s first-party offerings, most games that Nintendo launched on this console were insanely successful. This was recently made evident by the launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. These games sold 10 million units within three days of their launch.

And Nintendo started 2023 with a bang too. First, they launched Fire Emblem Engage, an insanely addictive strategy RPG title. And when everyone wondered if the upcoming Zelda game is the only worthwhile game coming to Switch this year, Nintendo launched Metroid Prime Remastered.

More than everything else, this game showed the graphical prowess of the Nintendo Switch. It ran at 60 fps, and with improved visuals too. And now there are murmurs that Nintendo would launch the two sequels on Switch too. That means we would see those games sometime this year too!
