Xbox might be ahead of Sony
Sony console owners worldwide have been pleading with Sony to go back to their old ways of appearing at the E3 festivals again. But to no avail. The last time Sony was seen at E3 was in the ancient times of 2018. Microsoft on the other hand has been listening to its player-base. They have dropped a bunch of titles that are available on Game Pass currently. Even third-party titles like Square Enix’s Outriders have made their way onto the platform.

Forza Horizon 5, Outer Worlds 2, and Halo: Infinite are some major titles that got their reveal at E3 2021. By displaying such major titles at what is arguably the biggest yearly video game festival, Xbox has ensured that these upcoming releases become the talk of the gaming community. It is widely regarded that they pretty much have succeeded on that front.

Not all hope is lost for Sony
Even though Xbox currently does seem to have the lead, it doesn’t mean Sony can’t make a comeback. Sony is hard at work on the PSVR 2, and a lot of the titles mentioned at E3 (including some that were revealed by Xbox) are indeed coming to Sony’s PlayStation 5. Squire Enix’s Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, a hack-and-slash game, that is set to release in 2022 is currently available as a demo for the PS5. PS5 owners should take note that demo is only available till June 23.

Sony has quite a few exclusive franchises under its label. If Sony decides to engage with the community with updates on some exclusive titles like God of War, they could turn things around. Better yet, should Sony decide to announce new exclusives, PlayStation owners will certainly be blown away.
With just a week removed from E3, it’s hard to tell which of these behemoths will come out on top.
